Yes, the 1 5/8" Cadet cartridge was marked as .57 Snider(at least in Canada). It was used in standard Snider chambers. -Ryan

I will snip a few plastic 24ga. hulls at that lenght and give it a go with my .595 RBs in my MkIII carbine.They arent as pretty as brass, but oh so easy to live with and experiment like this.
